Ultraista: Smalltalk Remixes (Four Tet, Matthew Dear) 12"
Proper remix action for Ultraista from Four Tet and Matthew Dear. For the unfamiliar, Ultraista's is a UK super trio consisting of Nigel Godrich, Beck drummer Joey Waronker and vocalist Laura Bettison. Together they create a unique brand of afro-beat-kraut-pop, but for the remix, Kieren Hebden aka Four Tet lends his signature textured, polyrhythmic bounce to "Smalltalk," transforming into something completely fresh. Matthew Dear also takes a stab at the track, but his take is something much more challenging - with off-kilter drums and druggy synthlines, it make you feel like you're trippin' even when completely sober.
