Sophomore full-length from fast-ascending British producer Mura Masa. Alex Crossan’s 2014 debut full-length Soundtrack To A Death was a purely instrumental affair (save for an appearance by Bonzai, who returns here), showcasing the UK producer’s experimental prowess, with a glossy stew of trap, jersey club and wonky Brainfeeder vibes. On his self-titled follow-up, Crossan hones in on the humid & breezy uptempo sound (read: tropical house) of recent radio bubblers by Skrillex and Diplo, and makes a grandiose statement with a vocalist appearing on every track; with quite an impressive guest list: Charli XCX, Jamie Lidell, Future Desiigner, an autotuned Damon Albarn and many more. Highlights include the kuduro-flavored “Nuggets” featuring Bonzai and the producer’s breakthrough 2016 collaboration with A$AP Rocky, “Love$ick.” Includes a code for free digital download.
